11 Ways to prepare for the World Race:

1. Do not make a to-do list. If you keep saying things like “I forgot to order a new debit card!” and “did I change the address for that bill yet?” then you’re doing it right.

2. Be sure to procrastinate on all your pre-Launch training. If Launch is scheduled for beginning of January, starting the training modules around 9pm on Christmas Eve is a good idea…. Just make sure you write that blog post first. 🙂

3. Don’t have a game plan for communicating with people back home. When your family already doesn’t like the idea of you going on an 11-month mission, this will go over particularly well with them.

4. Trade in your $400-Yamaha classical for a small-n-cheap Ovation steel-string worth about 120-bucks so that you might maybe POSSIBLY be able to take carry-on for flights…then pray really hard because you can’t afford to get hit with any extra fees.

4 1/2. Teach yourself at least three or four new worship songs that you absolutely love but that could very well be irrelevant once you’re on your all-Spanish-speaking route.

5. Don’t have a contingency plan for fundraising while in the field….then REEEEALLY PRAY HARD.

6. Read your Bible.

7. Spend time with friends and fam.

8. Eat at your fave restaurants.

9. Procrastinate packing — two weeks from Launch, a week…if you can wait till the day you leave, that’s even better!

10. Use any spare time leftover in your day to send your World Race squad-mates hearts and smileys and adorable emoticons on Facebook.

11. Pray, pray, and keep on praying…YOU’RE ABOUT TO GO ON THE WORLD RACE, BABY!

Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. -James 5:16
