This revelation came to me on the flight from Dominican Republic to Miami (en route to Bolivia)....

If you have an idol (for example, food), it isn’t spiritually healthy to replace it with another idol (such as running). In these instances, your spirit does not benefit by being rid of one idol only to have another slide right into its place. This is not the way of the Lord, and it is not what He wants for you.

Likewise, it isn’t spiritually healthy to create a second idol (again, for example, running) so that you can KEEP the first idol. This is not the way of the Lord, and He will break you of this by whatever means necessary to save you from a life of misery. “For the thief came to kill, steal, and destroy,” says the Lord, “but I came so that your life may be rich and satisfying and full of joy.”

In my journal, I have a note expressing my reaction to this. It says, ¨WHOOOOAAAAA! THAT´S INTENSE, JESUS!¨
