Taiwan

August 22, 2021: I had a dream that a government official (not a politician, and not anyone affiliated with any particular political party that I know of) had pledged loyalty to China. He and someone else were discussing government facilities that had been built for a nefarious purpose, and I specifically heard them say these were things the American people would never question.

As I woke up, I heard an audible voice, which seemed to be all around me, say: “Taiwan has fallen.”

This dream happened as things were unfolding in Afghanistan. The part about Taiwan seemed like a declaration, something that would happen at some future time, specifically because of what was unfolding right then, in that moment, in Afghanistan — as if the events would somehow build upon each other.

I don’t know much about geopolitics, but several months have since passed, and we certainly seem to be heading in that direction. Russia has invaded Ukraine, and China has done flyovers in Taiwanese airspace. Today, I finally felt released to share the dream/word and to encourage believers to intercede in prayer.

Sometimes the fate of a person, place, or thing is set, and there’s nothing that can be done to change it. But God is merciful, and oftentimes the course or path can be affected by fasting, prayer, and/or repentance. (You can find both types of examples all throughout Scripture.)

I want to be clear — I’m not claiming the course or path related to this prophetic word can or cannot be changed (I simply don’t know); however, I firmly believe that prayers are never wasted, fasting is never wasted, repentance is never wasted.

Humbling ourselves and seeking God’s mercy are always good, always, even if the trajectory of a situation is set. So even though there was no “might” or “maybe” in what I heard, and even though what I saw in the dream appeared to be plans that were already in place, I believe the Lord would have us to fast and pray and seek Him for Divine intervention.

I believe this is why I finally feel released to share all of this — because even if certain events have been determined, God’s mercy can still shine through in the darkest of moments. Let’s pray for Taiwan, and also for our own country. Perhaps He will yet turn things around for all of us.

“Let everyone call urgently on God. Let them give up their evil ways and their violence. Who knows? God may yet relent and with compassion turn from his fierce anger so that we will not perish.” – Jonah 3:8-9
